It has been confirmed!  Scarlett Johansson married her fiance Ryan Reynolds over the weekend.  In a crushing blow to men worldwide, Scarlett officially declared herself off the market.

It was a hush hush ceremony with only close friends and family attending.  Publicist Meredith O’Sullivan confirmed the couple had married, but did not say much about the ceremony.  The ceremony took place in Vancouver.  Johansson recently said the pair were “just enjoying our time”.

“So, you know, we’re just taking it easy. And no big plan yet. But it’s a good time and we’re just … enjoying our time to be young and engaged.

“I mean, I’m 23. There’s no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed.”

Looks like she has changed her mind and will be enjoying the married life!

Scarlett  Johansson it has recently visited  ruwanda, helping out with AIDS research in Africa.

Her latest cause is that of helping the environment through recycling.   Scarlett has participated in an advertising campaign aimed at encouraging people to recycle their mobile phones.
The campaign has the tag line ” answer the call”, and features Scarlett in a detective style outfit.

The organization running the campaign, environmental media association, has a goal of lowering the amount of  carbon dioxide  emissions created by mobile phone manufacturing processes and mobile phone recycling.

Hollywood, CA (CNS) – Scarlett Johansson is about to become actively involved in awareness of AIDS in African nations. Johansson spent four days attending AIDS clinics alongside charity workers for ‘RED’, a charity launched to combat AIDS through the power of consumerism.

RED, was launched by U2 frontman Bono in 2006 and has partnered with large consumer companies including Apple, Gap, American Express and Converse. The companies share the profits from the RED items to help fight AIDS in the African continent.

Scarlett praised the Bonos campaign, and was glad to lend a hand. She told People.com: “It was important for me to come here and see the issues we’re up against first hand.”

“I came here with an open mind, wanted to listen, understand and learn; I leave with the overwhelming understanding that the small action of making a RED choice in your purchases…has an enormous impact on the lives of people in countries like Rwanda.”

Scarlett Johansson Diva?

Scarlett Johansson has again hit back at claims she has been acting like a diva lately (and that Woody Allen’s encouraging may have caused her Diva streak)

Scarlett was touted as the Woody Allen’s latest inspiration since the pair teamed up for 2005 film Match Point.

A source tells the New York Post, “Scarlett isn’t the same… She’s turned into the biggest prima donna… everyone said she was a sweetheart… now they say, ‘Scarlett’s let it get to her head’.”

But Scarlett defended herself this week: she said she lives a ‘very modest and private lifestyle’.

The 23 year old hotty showed off her flawless figure in a new photoshoot recently published.  The shots were taken for anOther magazine.

In the article she discusses her reputation for being one of the sexiest actresses in Hollywood.

‘I think a lot of that (being called sexy) is just because I have breasts and an ass,’ she told the magazine.  ‘Is it because I’m curvy and most people in this business are thin?  ‘I don’t know what it is, I just think I am very comfortable in my body.’

Scarlett Johansson is definitely not a Diva.  Recently she mentioned she prefers a “modest and private lifestyle.”

The 23-year-old actress has hit out at reports suggesting she is difficult to work with, claiming doesn’t let her success go to her head.

She says, “I’m not (a diva). I live a very modest and private lifestyle. I’d never invite any of that kind of thing.

“Things get crazy with the media, but am I demanding or travel with a huge entourage? No! I’m not a terrible person to work with.”

Scarlett has revealed that would prefer to date older men rather than someone her own age. Johansson thinks a mature a man makes for a more experienced partner.

‘I’ve always mixed with people who are older than me,’ she tells Weekend Magazine. ‘I’m often told that I appeal to older men more than guys my own age, which I think is pretty cool. ‘Older men understand women much better. They usually have more taste. ‘I take it as a compliment.’

Scarlett, 23, is engaged to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, 31.

From this report by newstrack, Scarlett Johansson has told reporters that she will be learning more about the art of directing movies before she heads back into the studio to record a second album!

Scarlett’s firest album ‘Anywhere I Lay My Head’ was released early 2008, to moderate success.  It featured some interesting covers including a Tom Waits cover.

“I would love to do another album but right now, I’d like to focus on directing. I’ve wanted to do that since I was 12,”

I am starting to see a trend with a lot of young Hollywood celebrities being drawn to the interesting message of Barack Obama.  In this recent interview, Scarlett Johansson mentions her support for the democratic candidate in the upcoming US elections.

You’ve gotten grief for mentioning that you’ve exchanged e-mails with Barack Obama. Does that bother you?

It does bother me in the sense that it belittles the purpose of my involvement and the work that I’ve done for the campaign. … A lot of people have asked why he would correspond or care about what I think. OK, I may make a couple of movies a year, but there are issues – large issues – out there that really affect all of us that have nothing to do with me. So I think it’s great that Obama wants to know about every aspect of his campaign and who’s working for him.
